Developed by partners in the IPM Decisions Project

Partners in the IPM Decisions project have developed generic methods to estimate the value of Decisions Support Systems (DSS).

To help farmers to trust the predictions of a decision support system it is important to be able to quantify its expected “value” either in terms of economic return or reduced pesticide use or both. The generic methods that partners in the IPM Decisions project have developed to do this, are described in a report that is now available online https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/817617/results.

Data availability is a key determinant of how this method should be implemented. The partners demonstrate the application of these methods for four scenarios with where data is available in different forms. This work has been written up and plan to publish it in an open access scientific journal.
